It is a known fact that Indigenous men and women are 10 times more likely to be victims of heinous acts than any other race. This personal story is not just about seeking justice for one individual; it's about challenging a system that often overlooks the plight of our Indigenous brothers and sisters. The police are allegedly attempting to cover up this case, denying Cole his right to justice. We demand a thorough investigation into his case and insist on transparency throughout this process. We cannot allow another instance where justice is denied due to racial bias or negligence. A 19-year-old boy has been unjustly sentenced to life in prison without parole—death by incarceration—as a first-time offender for a home invasion robbery he did not commit. No lives were lost, no women or children were harmed, and there is NO evidence placing him at the scene of the crime. This extreme punishment for a crime with no casualties, coupled with the absence of any solid proof, highlights a grave miscarriage of justice.
